Rosemary Mwakitwange


Rosemary Mwakitwange is the executive chairperson of the East Africa Business and Media Training Institute.Previously, she served as managing director of New Habari Media Group, Tanzania's largest privately owned publishing company, which has advocated for good governance, multi-party democracy, corporate responsibility, and press freedom in Tanzania since 1993. Mwakitwange has gained a reputation for turning a faltering media company into a successful and financially strong organization, fighting unethical and corrupt practices by journalists, and working to support the restoration of professionalism among journalists inher country. A staunch believer in good corporate governance and an outspoken critic of corruption,Mwakitwange has worked tirelessly to promote a climate in which journalists are free from the influence of ruling party officials and business executives with close ties to government.

Ms. Rosemary Mwakitwange is Executive Chairperson of East Africa Business and Media Training Institute (EABMTI).Previously, she served as managing director of New Habari Media Group, Tanzania's largest privately owned publishing company, which has advocated for good governance, multi-party democracy, corporate responsibility, and press freedom in Tanzania since 1993. Ms. Mwakitwange has gained a reputation for turning a salvaged media company into a successful and financially strong organization, fighting unethical and corrupt practices by journalists, and working to support the restoration of professionalism amongst journalists in her country. A staunch believer in good corporate governance and an outspoken critic of corruption, Ms. Mwakitwange has worked tirelessly to promote a climate in which journalists are free from the influence of ruling party offi­cials and business executives with close ties to government. During her fellowship, she plans to explore the factors that influence aspiring and practicing journalists to remain faithful to standards of ethics and professionalism. Herfindings will be drawn up in a report in English and Swahili, to be shared with media houses, journalism schools, newspaper editors, journalists, and other relevant associa­tions in Tanzania. 

She is is the Founder and Host of 'The Tanzania We Want Live Shows' and Founder and Executive Chair of EABMTI and school of Business Journalism and Broadcasting. A NED fellow and graduate of East Anglia Investigative Journalism program, Inspirational and Motivational Speaker


Rosemary has a vast experience in running live and talk show and currently she runs a school named East Africa Business and Media Training Institute located at Msasani, Dar es salaam. 
With the Goal to solve the problems that Tanzanian's are facing in the business world such as starting a business and challenges in runing a business.
